Len Cuthbert to have plays published

Len Cuthbert, the Canadian playwright who wrote Enigmatic Lucidity that was staged in Midway, KY as part of KPW's Midway Festival of New Plays in 2009, was staged along with two other “Bob & Angelina” plays-- at the London Fringe Festival in June 2011. The collection of three ten-minute plays has since been accepted for publishing and marketing by Big Dog Publishing in Florida. ,

The first of six performances of Len Cuthbert's THE TRILOGY of BOB & ANGELINA took to the stage on Saturady June 19 at the London Fringe Festival.

Enigmatic Lucidity was presented in 2009 as part of the Midway Festival of New Plays at the Thoroughbred Community Theatre in MIdway, KY. The London Fringe is the first time that all three plays in the trilogy have been presented on the same stage, at the same time. This is an event not to be missed!

"Saving Grace" Selected for LYTE Program

London Community Players, London, Ontario, Canada have selected Len Cuthbert's play Saving Grace as part of its 2010 LYTE (London Youth Theatre Education) program. LYTE "is designed to introduce youth to the magic of theatre, offering them an opportunity to expand their creativity while cultivating self-esteem and performance skills in a stimulating, enjoyable environment." Each year playwrights are encouraged to submit one-act plays suitable for performance by young people. LCP then selects three plays which are developed during two weeks of rehearsals before being performed for family and friends.

Len Cuthbert to Direct at London Fringe Festival

Len Cuthbert, whose play Enigmatic Lucidity was performed as part of the Midway Festival of New Plays in October 2009, is now in rehearsals for the London (Ontario) Fringe Festival, that will take place, June 17 - 27, 2010. Len is directing, The Trilogy of Bob and Angelina which is composed of his three short plays, Enigmatic Lucidity,The Maladroit Romeo, and One Year One Day.

Arts reporter at rehearsal

Rich Copley, arts reporter for the Lexington Herald-Leader was at this past Monday night's first technical rehearsal. Mr. Copley interviewed Jim Betts, producer of the Festival's plays and director of The Weight by Steven Schutzman, Bob Singleton director of Enigmatic Lucidity by Len Cuthbert, and others involved in bringing the event together.

After his interviews Mr. Copley stayed around and took pictures of two of the plays as they were being rehearsed on stage at the Thoroughbred Community Theatre in Midway: Hill Cattle written by Crish Barth and directed by Scott Turner and The Day That Brando Died written Lawrence DuKore and directed by Ross Carter.

Mr. Copley said that his article about the Midway "Festival of New Plays" featuring the winning plays of the 517 Playwrights 10-Minute Play Contest will run in the Friday October 9th "Weekender" section of the Lexington Herald-Leader. Mr. Copley's article will also be available on line at Kentucky.com
